State Pediatric Medical Home Activities Current ActivitiesMedical Home Chapter Champions Program on Asthma, Allergy, and AnaphylaxisThis program supports the facilitation and dissemination of best practices, evidence-based guidelines, and resources in asthma, allergy, and anaphylaxis for clinicians throughout the state.Comprehensive Primary Care InitiativeThis multi-payer initiative works to foster collaboration between public and private health care payers in order to strengthen and promote primary health care. Although this program began with an adult focus, Arkansas is working to include pediatric clinicians and primary care practices in this initiative.Health Care Payment Improvement InitiativeA multi-payer initiative working to provide incentives for clinicians (including pediatric clinicians) for high quality and cost effective health care delivery.State Innovation Model Testing AwardArkansas was awarded a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid State Innovation Model Testing Award in February 2013. Through this grant, Arkansas is implementing strategies to transform a state's health care delivery system through multi-payer payment reform and additional state initiatives.Past ActivitiesAccelerating Improved Care for Children with Asthma Program A quality improvement project, initiated by the Arkansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, that enhanced care for children with asthma within a pediatric medical home. Medical Home ArkansasFunded through the Health Resources and Services Administration Maternal and Child Health Bureau, this grant works to improve the access and quality of primary care for children and youth with special health care needs.Healthy Tomorrows Partnership for Children ProgramWith funding from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, these community-based projects work to address health disparities and implement components of the pediatric medical home.
